How does Cullit work?

Upload your files, choose a shoot profile, and we score each image for sharpness, exposure, composition, and subject quality. You review star ratings and export organized results with optional Lightroom XMP or Capture One .costyle sidecars.

Is the culling perfect?

No AI tool is perfect. Cullit is designed to cut the majority of your manual pass. Edge cases — unusual lighting, ambiguous expressions, stylistic choices — are flagged for your final eye. Higher tiers catch more of these edge cases with better algorithms.

What algorithms do you use? Are the tiers really different?

Yes, genuinely different stacks per tier. Free uses OpenCV computer vision (blur, exposure, Haar face detection, composition). Starter adds MTCNN neural face detection and NIMA aesthetic scoring. Pro adds Claude Haiku AI vision on ambiguous shots. Studio runs Claude Sonnet AI vision on all non-obvious photos. Each tier catches things the previous tier misses — we show you exactly what each tier checks in the pricing modal.

What formats are supported?

JPEG, PNG, and common RAW formats including CR2/CR3, NEF, ARW, RAF, ORF, RW2, and DNG.

Do you support Lightroom or Capture One?

Yes. Exports include Lightroom-compatible XMP sidecar files and Capture One .costyle files. Import the sidecars and your star ratings carry over automatically.

How much does it cost?

Free trial includes 15 photos — no credit card required. Starter is $5/month for 1,000 photos. Pro is $15/month with a 3,000 photo/month fair use limit. Studio is $25/month with a 5,000 photo/month fair use limit. Heavy shooters above those caps can contact us for enterprise pricing.

What does 'fair use' mean for Pro and Studio?

Pro and Studio have soft monthly limits (3,000 and 5,000 photos respectively) to keep the service sustainable for everyone. Occasional overages are fine. Consistently sending 10,000+ photos per month on a $15 plan is not — reach out and we will sort out enterprise pricing.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel from your account settings, no retention flow, no dark patterns. Your access continues until the end of the billing period.

Do you offer refunds?

No refunds after processing has run for a billing cycle. If there is a technical failure on our end, contact support and we will make it right.

How do I contact support?

Email support@theculling.app and include your job ID if the issue is about a specific batch. We are a small team — expect a response within one business day.
